Skyline, MO. – Multiple emergency agencies have reported that a house that exploded near Denlow and Skyline in Douglas County has led to the death of one occupant.
This event happened on the night of Saturday, March 30th at around 10:30pm. Emergency personnel proceeded to a residence on County Road 132, only to find the damaged building on fire, with one person still trapped inside. Another resident of the home was able to escape, but was unable help the elderly female inside out of the two-story residence.
The blaze was battled throughout the night, and the next morning an excavator was employed for search efforts. The body of the unidentified female was found in the debris just before noon on Sunday.
Responding to this call were Missouri State Fire Investigators, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, the Eastern Douglas County, Ava, Mountain Grove, and Brixey-Rockbridge Fire Departments, and more.
The identity of the victim has not been released as not all next-of-kin have yet been notified.
