Texas County, MO. – Emily Dillon, a 24-year-old who was in jail for Felony 3rd Degree Assault, has filed a lawsuit against one of her jailers, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, and the Texas County Prosecutor.
This lawsuit is built on the grounds that the jailer coerced sexual favors from her, in exchange for influence on the Texas County Prosecutor, and protection for her brother, who was also incarcerated.
While the accusations on the jailer, David Watson, are obvious, the lawsuit further states that the County Sheriff’s Department didn’t properly supervise him, and that Prosecutor Parke Stevens Jr was aware of Watson’s actions.
A criminal investigation was performed earlier this year by the Highway Patrol, as requested by the Texas County Sheriff, and Watson was fired from his position on August 26th.
The prosecuting attorney’s office has denied any validity to the claims, and Stevens has stated he is looking forward to this being dismissed in court.
Dillon is seeking damages in value of over one-and-a-quarter-million dollars. Her felony charge will be followed up on in court on April 24th and 25th of 2023.
