Five Injured, One Seriously, in Friday Afternoon Crash Near Mtn. View

Mountain View, Mo. – A two-vehicle crash near Mountain View leaves five people, including two children, injured Friday afternoon. The accident occurred on US 60, two miles east of Mountain View in Shannon County at 3 p.m.

A 2002 Dodge Ram driven by Kimberly Smeltzer, 64 of Birch Tree, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Caleb Green, 22 of Birch Tree. Green was seriously injured in the crash and was airlifted to Cox South for treatment. His three passengers, Sierra Green, 23, and two juvenile girls age 2 and 4, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Ozarks Healthcare. Smeltzer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Mountain View for treatment.
