Gainesville man injured following motorcycle vs. deer crash

West Plains, MO. – An Ozark County man is recovering after hitting a deer with his motorcycle on Thursday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 5:40 a.m. on Highway 5, seven miles southwest of Gainesville.

A southbound Yamaha 1100 Virago driven by Flloyd Collins, age 59 of Gainesville, struck a deer in the roadway. The bike was damaged in the crash and the driver suffered moderate injuries.

Collins was transported by Ozark County Ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR for treatment. He had been wearing a safety device.
