West Plains, MO. – A Peace Valley man was arrested last week on multiple statutory sodomy charges.
Following a grand jury indictment, Brenten C. Macias, age 20 of Peace Valley, has been charged with three counts of Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy – Deviate Sexual Intercourse – Person Less than 14 years of age.
According to the probable cause statement, on March 2, 2023, a referral was sent to the Child Advocacy Center referencing Macias allegedly having sexual contact with a juvenile female. The age of the juvenile has been redacted in the statement.
The juvenile told the interviewer that Macias would attempt anal sex with her while she slept, show her pornography, and masturbate in front of her. These are said to have occurred when the child and her mother lived with Macias and his father.
Macias was interviewed by a Howell County Sheriff’s Office deputy concerning the allegations.
During the interview, he initially denied any sexual interaction with the minor but would later admit the juvenile would approach him and ask to perform oral sex on him in early 2020, which he allowed a ‘few’ times, later stating it only occurred once or twice. He told authorities the minor stopped asking to perform oral sex on him after he moved out of the residence around July 2021.
The suspect denied any additional sexual acts with the minor when asked specifically about vaginal or anal sex, stating he “would not go that far.”
Brenten Macias was arrested by the Howell County Sheriff’s Office on June 30, 2023, and has since been released on a $100,000 bond.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
