Hartshorn Harley Rider Air Lifted for Injuries

Mountain View, MO. – The rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle has ended up in Springfield, recovering from serious injuries sustained in an accident that occurred at 8:15 pm on Thursday, May 18th.

This accident report was made possible by an investigation performed by Trooper J.J. Smith of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.

In the report, it is stated that the rider has been identified as Linus Newby, a 50-year-old Hartshorn resident. Newby crashed when he collided with a deer on the roadway of Missouri Route 17, just half a mile North of Mountain View.

Newby’s injuries were considered serious in severity, and an air ambulance was considered a necessity for his recovery. He was taken to Cox South in Springfield by Air Evac helicopter.
