Homeowner/Home Buyer Resource Day event to be held in West Plains

West Plains, Mo. – Southern Missouri Builders Association (SMBA) are hosting a Resource Day for Homeowners/Home Buyers, and/or anyone considering housing decisions. This FREE educational day is Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch will be served. This day will include information from Builders, REALTORS, Financial and Utility Representatives highlighting the process from each standpoint and helping create a road map for individuals to better navigate the home buying and home ownership roads.

Registration is FREE but required for an accurate lunch count. This is your chance to make connections, learn about local resources and become better informed during this major life decision of homeownership.

Speakers include local contractors/builders and REALTORS talking about buying, building and/or remodeling. A financial representative will discuss financing options and budgeting ideas. A utility representative will speak about site readiness and planning. There will also be a legal representative to share information about title work and insurance to protect homeowners/home buyers.

Lunch will be served and then participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.

β€œThe goal of this event is to help educate prospective homeowners and homeowners about the ownership journey by connecting them with local professionals and resources,” explained Becky Butler, SMBA member and moderator for this event.

This is a completely free event hosted by Southern Missouri Builders Association with sponsorships from Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, Butler Heating & Air, Wiles Title Company, and Century 21 Ozark Hills Realty.
