“Hostage Situation” Revealed to Be Drug-Induced Hallucinations

Tecumseh, MO. – The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement yesterday regarding an event that occurred last month where they were required to respond to a possible hostage situation, which ended in an unexpected way.

This event took place on May 6th in the early morning hours. Dispatch received a call from concerned individuals, who received text messages from their family stating two males broke into their home and were holding them at gunpoint.

The Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force was deployed to resolve the situation. Within 30 minutes, both occupants of the home were extricated and identified as Randy and Marsha Wilson. The alleged victims stated the men were still in the house, but no one was found inside.

An investigation of the incident revealed that the entirety of this scenario was a drug-induced hallucination caused by the use of methamphetamine. Drug paraphernalia was located in the residence, and both Randy and Marsha were charged afterward.
