Howell County Sheriff’s Office Help Locate Missing Child

Peace Valley, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Office helped to reunite a parent with their child on Saturday, January 21st.

This started when they received the call notifying them of the missing child around noon. The location of the call was Peace Valley, Northeast of West Plains.

Deputies requested the help of local Volunteer Fire Departments, and deployed K-9 Otis. On deployment, Otis was introduced to an article of clothing of the child; the scent of which he used to find them, roughly a quarter mile from the residence in a wooded location.

Sheriff Brent Campbell stated the child was returned safe and sound, and was found playing.

Other agencies involved include Howell County, Peace Valley, and Howell County Rural Fire Departments, and Mike Burgess of K-9 search and rescue.
