Howell County Sheriff’s Office Offering School Bus Stop Signs

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office is distributing 100 free School Bus Safety Signs to help remind drivers to stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing. With the new school year underway, officials say the signs are meant to reinforce shared responsibility for keeping students safe on the road.

The signs are available in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office and will be handed out on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Supplies are limited to one sign per person so more families have the opportunity to receive one. The Sheriff’s Office will update its Facebook page once all signs have been claimed.

Officials encourage residents to help spread the word and continue practicing safe driving around school buses to protect children traveling to and from school.
