Inmate Faces Additional Felony Charges for Jail Damage

The Shannon County Sheriff’s Office has announced that Maurice Jones, who was originally arrested on Burglary and Aggravated Assault charges, is now facing additional felony charges for causing damage to the Shannon County Jail.

Following his arrest on Sunday, March 2, 2025, Jones reportedly caused significant damage to the cell where he was being held. As a result, he has been charged with Damage to Jail, a Class E felony, with his bond set at $25,000.
