West Plains, MO. – A man and child were injured in a two vehicle crash involving a UTV Saturday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred on County Road 1930, two miles north of West Plains at 9 a.m.
A southbound 2012 Polaris Razor driven by Larry Campbell, 26 of West Plains, attempted to overtake a 2013 Dodge Journey driven by Shanomie Jenness-Campbell, 26 of West Plains. The Razor sideswiped the Dodge before running off the roadway and striking a utility pole. Neither Larry Campbell or his 2 year old male passenger had been wearing safety devices and both were partially ejected from the vehicle.
The child suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment. Larry Campbell suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The driver of the Dodge was uninjured in the accident.
