Man Seriously Injured After Two Vehicle Crash Caused From Striking Cow In The Roadway

Pulaski County, MO. – A man was seriously injured following a crash, where he struck a cow with his vehicle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash occurred on June 4, 2024, at 4:15. 31-year-old Jesse Pierce was traveling westbound on I-44 when he struck a cow standing in the roadway. This caused him to spin off and strike the guardrail. 65-year-old Mollie Barrs, driver of a 2024 Volvo Tractor Trailer, struck the same cow. Barrs was not injured in the crash but her tractor-trailer received extensive damage. Pierce was seriously injured in the crash and was transported via ambulance to Phelps Health. It is unknown whether Pierce was wearing his safety device at the time of the crash.
