West Plains, MO. – A Mansfield man that the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested on January 3rd has been charged for controlled substances.
Douglas County Deputies attempted to arrest Jeffery Brooke on January 2, 2023, on an outstanding felony Failure to Appear – Non-Support warrant. The deputies were told he was hiding in a barn in the Squires area. Upon a search of the area a bag was located that contained illegal narcotics, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, narcotics distribution equipment, and personal items that belonged to Brooke but, the suspect had fled before the Deputies had arrived.
Brooke was located on January 3rd when the motorcycle belonging to the suspect was spotted at a business in the area. During questioning following his arrest, Brooke admitted that the bag found the previous day was his.
On February 14th; a Douglas County warrant was issued for Brooke regarding the illegal items found in the bag on January 2nd.
Charges include:
- Possession of Controlled Substance-methamphetamine
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Amphetamine or Methamphetamine
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Bond is set at $5000 cash with bond conditions. Brooke remains in custody on the Failure to Appear-Non Support warrant that he was initially arrested on and the warrant issued on February 14th.
