Marion County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Structure Fire Death

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander has reported that authorities are investigating a fatal structure fire that occurred on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 5:56 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call regarding a fire at a residence on Marion County Road 7058 near Flippin. Fire department personnel arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, responders discovered the body of an unidentified individual inside the residence.

A Sheriff’s Office Investigator, along with a Fire Investigator from the Mountain Home Fire Department, processed the scene and conducted interviews. The body was transferred to the Marion County Coroner before being sent to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the victim’s identity and establish the cause and manner of death.

Several fire departments assisted in the response, including the Flippin Fire Department, Yellville Volunteer Fire Department, Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, and the Cotter Fire Department.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and further updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
