MDC’s Virtual Program on Fish Cleaning to be Held April 10

After a successful fishing trip, many anglers look forward to enjoying the fruits of their labor. However, before any fish fillets land in the fryer or on the grill, it’s crucial to know the proper techniques for cleaning your catch. To help anglers with this important skill, the Missouri Department of Conservation will host a free virtual program on fish cleaning titled “Pond to Plate: Fish Cleaning 101.”

This online event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on April 10, and it is open to anyone interested in learning more about cleaning common types of sportfish found in Missouri’s waters. The program will be hosted by the staff at MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin, offering practical tips and insights for fish cleaning enthusiasts of all skill levels.
