Michael Davis Named New Coordinator of At Risk Services/ZPA Director

The West Plains R-VII School District is proud to announce that Michael Davis has been approved as the next Coordinator of At Risk Services and Director of the Zizzer Pride Academy (ZPA).

Davis has been a dedicated member of the district since 2018, beginning his career on the maintenance and custodial staff, a position he has continued each summer. His commitment to student success led him to serve as a paraprofessional in the SWAT program before transitioning into teaching. In July 2020, Davis began his teaching career as a Special Education teacher at ZPA, where he spent two years before moving to the 5th grade science and social studies classroom. He has served in this role for the past three years, making a lasting impact on his students.

Beyond the classroom, Davis has been actively involved in athletics, coaching middle school football for four years and tennis for two. His leadership and dedication to student growth extend beyond academics, fostering a strong culture of mentorship and teamwork.

Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from William Woods University. His academic background and hands-on experience make him well-equipped to take on this new leadership role.

Mr. Davis will officially begin his new position on July 1, 2025. The district is excited for the future under his leadership and looks forward to the positive impact he will continue to have on students and staff.
