Missouri Increasing Permit Prices For Hunting And Fishing

Missouri – The Missouri Conservation Commission recently gave initial approval to boosting permit prices for hunting, fishing, and trapping. Under the new plan, permit prices would be raised for non-residents and residents. According to a news release from the Missouri Department of Conservation, for them to keep pace with rising costs, the agency must raise prices for them to work.

Missouri currently has more than 1 million anglers, 500,000 hunters, and several thousand trappers who apply for permits, which adds up to almost 2.6 million permits each year. Raising the costs of permits would also allow the department to provide upgrades and improvements to habitats and nature centers that need repairs.
