Mountain View, MO. – The teen from Mountain View who was arrested for the death of his grandmother has recently been sentenced by a judge after he entered a specific legal plea.
Jacob Hearne, a 19-year-old from Mountain View, entered into an Alford Plea in the case of the second-degree murder of his grandmother back in April of 2022. This started when a house fire claimed the life of the victim, and Hearne admitted to having started the fire.
Despite this, Hearne has stated he holds no guilt for the crime, stating his grandmother asked for an assisted suicide. As such, he has entered into an Alford plea, which means that while he admits there’s substantial evidence against him, he admits no wrongdoing.
Hearne has been sentenced to 24 years in jail.
