The Caulfield Fire Department took to social media to announce the loss, which can be read below.

“Hello ladies and gentleman,
I come to you tonight with news that a chief never wants to have to deliver.
This afternoon one of our fire fighters was driving on V Hwy in Ozark County. Firefighter Clewett was not responding to a call. He was traveling north and the crash occurred as the vehicle he was driving failed to negotiate a curve. This led to the vehicle traveling off the roadway and ultimately overturning.
Firefighter Clewett passed away at the scene. Please keep this family, friends, and everyone involved in your prayers.
I would like to thank Bakersfield Fire Department, Tecumseh Fire Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ozark County Ambulance, and the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office for your assistance today.
Big thanks to Chief Greg Watts for everything that he done today.
Rest easy brother, we have it from here.”

This is the 5th traffic fatality in Troop G territory since December began.

The investigating officer on this crash was Trooper W.A. Wadlington of the Highway Patrol, and they were assisted by Corporal N.J. Britt, and Corporal J.R. Roberts.
