Oldfield Man Arrested in Ava for Burglary and Theft

Ava, MO. – A man with an address from Oldfield, MO. was arrested in Ava last week for stealing multiple bottles of Crown Royal, $250 cash, and a security camera system box from a Douglas County business.

According to an announcement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, this started on June 9th when a Deputy responded to a burglary call at the Barnyard Store on T Highway. Finger and boot prints were taken from the crime scene, and several items were noted as stolen.

On June 11th, two deputies were called to the Ava City Pool for a suspicious character who was “stalking the pool area”. The man’s backpack had multiple bottles of Crown Royal whiskey inside it that were confirmed as being the same bottles stolen on the 9th. In addition, the man’s boots matched the prints at the scene of the burglary.

The man was identified as Lowell Ray Fink, 20 of Oldfield. He was then arrested and taken into custody. Fink faces charges including felony 2nd Degree Burglary, felony 1st Degree Property Damage, and felony Stealing – $750 or more.
