Ella “Faye” Vickers

Ella Faye Vickers was born on February 9, 1935, in Nicholls, Georgia, to parents John Harvey and Marybelle (Kirkland) Rowell. Faye was the next to the oldest of six children. She went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2024, at Ozarks Healthcare, West Plains, Missouri.

She was married to William Henry Dent, and to this union, two children were born, Janet Swope and Vicki Dent. Later in life, Faye was married to Tom Vickers, and they had Hal Vickers and Cheryl Goff.

Faye loved flowers and working in her garden. She learned to quilt at the Forest Dell Ladies Aid and made all of her grandkids a quilt.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Jesse and Josephine Vickers; her two husbands; her siblings, John and Trenton Rowell, Mary Gabriel, and Dorothy Jean Tanner; her grandson, Darrin Davis; and son-in-law, Rick Swope.

She is survived by her children, Janet Swope, Vicki (Brook) Dent, Hal (Robin) Vickers, and Cheryl (David) Goff; five grandchildren, Steve (Sara) Chowning, Kristy (Travis) Reese, Colbi (Kole) Gastineau, Levon (Megan) Vickers, and Kelsi (Rodney) Vickers; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Betty Strickland, and her son, Ricky.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Yarber Mortuary in Mountain View, Missouri, with Mark Willbanks officiating. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
