Southern Missouri – According to a recent post from NASA, there will be a planet parade visible in the night sky tonight.
A planet parade is when several planets align on the sun’s right side, making them visible across the night sky. On June 3, six planets will align including, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. These planets will be seen towards the east around 1 hour before sunrise. The moon, Mars, and Saturn will be completely visible with the human eye but to get a complete and clear view of all six planets they suggest using a telescope. Using the telescope will help you get a view of all the planets as the sun starts to rise.
There is a chance to see another planet parade on June 29, but there will not be as many planets in this alignment. On the 29th, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and a three-quarter moon will all be visible to the human eye.
The planet parade is not an entirely uncommon occurrence but it is rarer to see so many in alignment at the same time.
