The Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Willow Springs Police Department are excited to
announce that registration is now open for the 2026 I Ran From the Cops 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk,
scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. in Willow Springs at Palenske
Field.
Now in its fourth year, the “I Ran From the Cops” 5K has become one of the community’s favorite
annual events, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and supporters from across the region for
a morning of fun, fitness, and community spirit. Proceeds from the event help support both the Willow
Springs Police Department and the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to take part. Whether you’re chasing a
personal record, walking with friends, or just coming out to enjoy the excitement, everyone is
welcome.
Registration is $30 per participant. Participants who would like to receive an official event t-shirt may
register for $40. To guarantee a shirt, registrations must be received by Friday, August 28. Registration
will remain open after that date, but t-shirts cannot be guaranteed.

The event features a 5K race with overall and age division awards, a one-mile walk and a Free 1 mile
Fun Run for children 10 and under with plenty of fun along the course. Whether you’re running from
the cops or just running for fun, it’s an event that has something for everyone.
“This event continues to grow each year because it’s such a unique way for our community to come
together,” said Kim McCormick, Executive Director of the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce. “We
love seeing families, competitive runners, first-time participants, and our local officers all enjoying the
morning together. We encourage everyone to register and be part of another great year.”
