Schools were on temporary lockdown during nearby police pursuit in West Plains

West Plains, MO. – The West Plains School District informed parents by email on Tuesday morning of a temporary lockdown at the middle school and high school locations due to police activity.

Local law enforcement informed the school of a pursuit of a man on Bratton Avenue, south of the WPMS and WPHS grounds. A hold was placed on the buildings for student and staff safety. Once the suspect was taken into custody, the hold was lifted and the school alerted parents and media of the incident.
