The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued an update regarding the potential severe weather through the Ozarks this afternoon and into Wednesday Evening, and estimated risks have risen.
For today, most of our listening area is within the 2/5 risk zone, with a broken line of strong thunderstorms which mostly lie to the north of us. However, there is still a risk of 60-70mph winds, and the possibility of hail.
Tomorrow, however, the risk for potentially strong to severe thunderstorms has risen to 3/5, with highest chances existing along a line from Branson to West Plains, and through to north of Poplar Bluff. Localized flash flooding could also be an issue, with over an inch of rain being expected on top of what will have been received today.
On Thursday, risk potentials lessen for most of our area, with only parts of Ozark and Douglas County being at a 2/5 risk zone.
