Shannon County Officer Injured in House Fire

 
Community Outreach Program Officer J.D. Melvin was injured in a house fire, according to a release from the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Melvin and his wife were able to escape the devastating fire, but Officer Melvin sustained second-degree burns and suffered from smoke inhalation. He has received treatment at a local emergency room. Tragically, the Melvins lost their home in the fire. 
 
SCSO Corporal Burgher, a member of the organization Third Watch Missouri, is actively working to support Officer Melvin and his family during this difficult time.
