Shannon County Welcomes First Graduating EMR Class in Years

Winona, MO. – Shannon County recently had a class of fifteen individuals take part in EMR, or Emergency Medical Response classes, with all fifteen graduating. This is the first set of graduates of EMR in Shannon County since before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Emergency Medical Response is a type of medical certification that exists just below EMT. People who are trained in EMR are trained to treat injuries and illnesses with minimal equipment in order to better equip responders to work in situations such as vehicular wrecks, fires, and more.

This class was held on June 8th, and was put on by Carl Beasley of Mercy St Francis, and Bethany Busby of the Mountain View Fire Department.

Agencies with students in the class include Shannon County First Responders, Carter County First Responders, Birch Tree Fire and Rescue, the Winona Volunteer Fire Department, the Eastwood Fire Protection District, and the Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department.
