Gainesville – A one vehicle accident on Sunday night has one man arrested and one man in the hospital.
The accident occurred when the 2003 Ford F250 driven by Anthony Thornton, 59 of Pomona, failed to make a turn near Cloud 9 Ranch in Caulfield. The truck traveled off the right side of the road, striking two trees and overturned. The passenger of the truck, James Hays, 45 of Willow Springs, suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. Thornton received minor injuries. Neither were wearing a safety device.
Anthony Thornton was placed under arrest and charged with Felony DWI with Serious Physical Injury and Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting In A Crash. Thornton was taken to Ozark County Jail and has been released at this time.
