Texas County Sheriff Reports Shooting Death

Bucyrus, MO. – The Texas County Sheriff’s Office has released information to the public on a case where someone had been fatally shot to death in the Bucyrus area.

This event occurred Wednesday morning, November 8th, in the early morning hours. At 3:02 am, a male individual contacted 911 dispatch and reported he had shot someone he thought was trying to break into the residence on Lynch Drive in Bucyrus. After firing the shot, the individual found that the victim was a 31-year-old female that lived in the same residence.

The Texas County Coroner responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased after arrival. Afterward, a 38-year-old male was detained at the scene and was taken to the Texas County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Update: On Thursday at roughly 11:30 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office reported that the subject was released from custody after the 24 hour hold.  This remains an active investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.  The victim is identified as Tiffany M. Angel age 31, of Bucyrus, MO.  

As this is a case with ongoing investigation, further details are unavailable but will be made public as the case progresses.
