Thayer, MO. – Dr. Joseph Barnard, board-certified family medicine physician, recently joined providers Melissa Wright, MD, and Sheila Marler, FNP-C, at Ozarks Healthcare in Thayer, where he will provide primary care services for patients of all ages.

Barnard completed a residency in family medicine at Cox Health Family Medicine in Springfield, Missouri. He earned a Doctorate of Osteopathy (DO) from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before medical school, Barnard worked as a physical therapy assistant at Ozarks Healthcare Therapies.
Regarding family medicine, Barnard says he enjoys the challenge of the many facets of medical issues he can treat. He finds building relationships with patients of all ages and across multiple generations rewarding.
