A head‑on collision Saturday morning on U.S. 160, three miles west of Doniphan, left two men dead and another seriously injured. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a westbound 2008 Suzuki SX4 struck an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Suburban at 7:45 a.m.

The 40‑year‑old Suzuki driver from Doniphan was pronounced dead at the scene by Ripley County Coroner Michael Jackson. A 50‑year‑old passenger in the Suzuki, also from Doniphan, later died at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. The 42‑year‑old Suburban driver suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis.
