West Plains, MO – A three vehicle accident south of West Plains has sent two people to the hospital. The crash occurred on Friday at 12:55 pm one mile west of South Fork. A 2008 Ford Taurus X, driven by Briana Walters, 25 of West Plains, and a 2007 Saab driven by James Mcleod, 44 of Trussville, Al. were stopped in traffic on Highway 160. A 2004 Mitsubishi GS, driven by Gary Burkepile, 43 of West Plains, crashed into the Taurus and pushed it into the Saab.
Walters and Mcleod, their vehicles with extensive and moderate damage respectively, were wearing safety devices and unharmed. Burkepile and his passenger, Jeremy Burkepile, 41 of West Plains, were not wearing safety devices and were taken to Ozarks Healthcare by ambulance with moderate and serious injuries.
