Two-Vehicle Accident Injures Two, Kills One Thursday Night

Vanzant, MO. – In Douglas County, there has been a report of a two-vehicle accident that has claimed the life of a woman from Mountain Grove.

This fatal accident was investigated by Corporal N.J. Britt of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.

According to the report, this collision was head-on between a Lincoln Towncar and a Mazda CX 3 at 3:20 p.m of Thursday, December 7th.

The driver of the Towncar, Brenda Blacketer, 77 of Mountain Grove, ran off the roadway of Highway W, three miles south of Vanzant. She then overcorrected and skidded into the path of the Mazda.

The Douglas County Coroner, Rick Miller, pronounced Blacketer deceased at 4:02pm. She was not wearing a safety device.

The driver of the Mazda, Kasara Frost, 24 of Mountain Grove, was seriously injured. A passenger of the Mazda, Emily Schneider, 22 of Vanzant, was inflicted with moderate injuries.

Air ambulance was used to transport Frost to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Schneider was taken via ground ambulance to the same location.
