Vehicle Overturns After Swerving to Avoid Deer

A crash occurred on the morning of April 3 in Shannon County when a 2004 GMC Sierra swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, leading to an accident that left the vehicle overturned. The crash took place on Missouri Highway 4, approximately four miles east of Winona.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old male from Winona was traveling westbound when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer. The driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a road sign, and ultimately overturned.

The driver, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained minor injuries. He was transported by a private vehicle to Mercy St. Francis in Mountain View for medical attention.
