The Howell County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the capture of 49-year-old John George Franklin Becker, who was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. Becker, a Tier 3 offender in Missouri, was also under federal probation for his original conviction of Statutory Sodomy 2nd Degree involving a 13-year-old female victim in St. Louis.
Sheriff Matt Roberts had previously issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Becker, who was known to travel frequently and had been spotted in Tennessee and Kentucky in recent weeks. Reports also indicated that he had been using aliases on social media and checking himself into mental treatment facilities, where he allegedly met women and later harassed them at their homes.
