Missouri and Arkansas -It was just announced that candy and snacks sold at Walmart and Dollar General are recalled due to salmonella.
This recall has been classified as Class 1, the highest risk level of contamination. All Palmer Candy products are being recalled after a supplier notified them that their liquid coating could potentially have been contaminated by salmonella. Production of the confections has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue their investigation into the source of the problem.
Healthy people infected with salmonella could experience fever, diarrhea (which could be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Those who have purchased the white-coated candy and snack items manufactured by Palmer Candy Co. are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
