The City of West Plains Charter Review Commission convened for the first time this week, officially launching its review of the city charter and beginning work on potential recommendations for future governance. The commission includes 12 West Plains residents who volunteered to serve: Sylvia Biggers, Amanda Parker, Amber Miller, Justin Collins, Thomas Meyer, Judy Ogden, Jessica Nease, Reid Grigsby, Karen Eggert, David Evans, Jonathan Hanshaw, and Bryan Adcock.
The city charter outlines how West Plains’ government is structured and operates, and periodic reviews help ensure those guidelines continue to meet the needs of the community. City officials thanked the commission members for their willingness to serve and for their commitment to shaping the city’s future.
The commission will continue meeting over the coming months as it works through the review process. More information about the Charter Review Commission and updates on its progress are available at westplains.gov.
