West Plains Couple Arrested in Douglas County for Meth

Ava, MO. – On July 18, 2022 Deputy Aaron Box with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to County Road 303 of AF highway for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the road way, where a man and woman were acting suspicious.
 
Deputy Box made contact and identified the male as Joshua David George age 37 from West Plains and the female as Amanda Renee Wallace age 37 from West Plains. The duo stated that their car was overheating. Deputy Box became suspicious when Wallace indicated they were traveling from Marshfield to West Plains, as CR 303 is nowhere near the route they should have been traveling.
 
George exhibits signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Consent to search was obtained resulting in Deputy Box locating methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
 
Joshua George was currently on Probations for possession of a controlled substance.
 
Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Douglas County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
Warrants were issued for both Wallace and George for Possession of a Controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Amanda Wallace (DCSO)
Wallace’s bond was set at $1500 cash with CPS bond supervision, twice weekly drug testing, no illegal drugs including marijuana, and not to be in Douglas County except for drug testing, attorney visits and court.
 
 
George’s bond was set at $15,000 cash only, , twice weekly drug testing, no illegal drugs including marijuana, and not to be in Douglas County except for drug testing, attorney visits and court.
 
Sheriff Chris Degase would like to thank the numerous Citizen in the CR 303 area that called in and reported this suspicious activity. “It was good to see neighbors watching out for their community and for helping us keep Douglas County safe.”
