Fire alarms at West Plains Elementary were set off by work being done in the area Monday morning. Students, as a precaution, were safely evacuated from the building while safety of the school was checked.
The school stated that the alarm was set off when drilling was being done on a wall, triggering the alarm.

Students were, at no time, at any risk of danger from fire or other hazard.
