West Plains, MO. – Yesterday, the West Plains Police Department issued an announcement to the public regarding the indictment of Brian Lee Cox.

On February 25, 2025, Brian Lee Cox was federally indicted by a grand jury in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri for alleged violations related to child pornography offenses under Title 18 U.S.C. § 2252.
On March 10, 2025, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (SMCCTF), with assistance from the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office, executed an arrest warrant and apprehended Cox without incident.
As this remains an active investigation, no further details will be released. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
