Willow Springs PD Phone Lines Shut Down After Mass Volume of Complaints

Willow Springs, MO. – The phone lines with the Willow Springs Police Department were recently shut off after hundreds of phone calls bogged down the lines, with the vast majority of them coming from what is being described as a First Amendment group.

According to KY3, this issue stems from a conflict between the WSPD and a local resident named James Fish. Fish had reportedly been shouting obscenities and using obscene hand gestures during a recent weekend event in Willow, which led to the police asking the man to leave. Fish alleges it was his right to be there and to say what he wished to say.

This disagreement led to Fish then filing a complaint to the Police Department that following Monday, which then turned into Fish receiving a ticket for Disorderly Conduct. The exchange was recorded and then posted to a national organization on Youtube, and the calls began to flood in.

While the phone lines are down, the Willow Springs Police may be contacted via 911.
