Willow Springs, MO. – On Monday, August 14th of 2023, the Willow Springs School Board met for discussion, and approved the acquisition of another property within the town.
This latest decision from the school puts another link into the chain of processes for the school to start implementing the old MoDOT building, which started last year as the city conveyed the building to the school.
According to the press release from the School, they state that if the City of Willow Springs approves the contract on their end later this week, the school will begin plans for expansion into the North building. Further statements say that plans include relocating programs such as agriculture, FACS, wood shop, and business classes into the building. The special education trailers across from the Hicks House will also be removed.
Superintendent of the Willow Springs School, Marty Spence, is quoted as saying ““The district is thrilled to partner with the City of Willow Springs to continue to provide opportunities for our kids… The former MoDOT building
will be a tremendous benefit to the school for years to come.”
