Willow Springs, MO. – The sixth fatality for December in the territory of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop G has been reported.
The victim in this report is a woman from Willow Springs. She was identified as Lisa Colbert, 61, who was driving a Chrysler Town & Country northbound on US 63. Roughly one-half mile south of Willow Springs, investigation suggests Colbert travelled off the left side of the roadway and overturned, totaling the vehicle. The crash occurred at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 21st.
Colbert was wearing a safety device and suffered fatal injuries. Howell County Deputy Coroner Michael Pauly pronounced Colbert deceased at 12:55 a.m.
According to the Highway Patrol numbers on the report, there is a clear increase in overall traffic fatalities in 2023, with this year’s count being 39, as opposed to 29 this time last year.
The trooper who investigated this crash is listed as Trooper J.J. Smith of Troop G.
