On Sunday (8/30), officers with the West Plains Police Department responded to the Ridgecrest Motel for a report of an unknown disturbance. Upon officers arriving on scene, it was learned a male suspect had brandished a knife at several people and threatened to cause serious bodily harm.
A male victim stated he and his wife were walking outside of the motel when a male identified as John J. Boudoin, Jr. began yelling at them and tried to start a fight. The male victim told officers he exchanged words with Boudoin at which point Boudoin grabbed a knife and threatened to harm the male victim. The male victim stated other witnesses grabbed a hold of Boudoin and prevented him from assaulting the male victim.
Boudoin was located in a room at the motel and was placed under arrest. Boudoin was transported to the Howell County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. Formal charges were filed by the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office against Boudoin for one count each of 1st Degree Assault or Attempted Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by the. Boudoin remains in jail on a $25,000 cash or corporate surety bond.
