Alice Faye Giles

Alice Faye Langston Giles was born near Salem, AR on March 18, 1925 and she passed to join her Heavenly Father recently on January 27, 2025. Faye, as she was known to friends and family, was preceded in death by her mother and father, by her husband Henry, and eleven siblings.

Faye was born into a rural Arkansas farming family shortly before the onset of the Great Depression. She was the youngest of twelve children – all of her siblings became doting older brothers to their one and only beloved little sister. Faye eventually moved from Salem to the metropolitan St Louis area where she met and married Henry Giles. They lived in the St Louis area always welcoming of visiting family. They eventually moved to Tooele, UT for Henry’s work. There, they enjoyed camping and exploring for gemstones in the beautiful back country of Utah.

Faye and Henry returned to Salem after Henry’s retirement. Living in Salem, Faye was again close to many family living in the area. She was exceptionally close to her niece and companion Gaye Williams and Gaye’s oldest daughter and son Cheryl Yow and Tim Williams. Her home was always welcoming and she always offered to prepare a meal for visitors.
