She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 52 years, Jack Harris, grandchildren, Dara and Noah Hensley, brother, Cleo Myers, sisters-in-law, Moletus, Gloria, and Charlene Myers.

Betty is survived by her brothers, Clifford Myers of Rogersville, Missouri, Kenneth Myers of Seymour, Missouri, her children, Billy Harris and wife, Pam, Bobby Harris and wife, Shelley, and Steven Harris and wife, Janice, all of Seymour, Missouri, daughter, Joetta Hensley and husband, Steve, of Quincy, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Brandon and Misty whom Jack and Betty raised, Dalton, Hailea, Tyler, Shane, Tiffany, Kayla, Kelsey, and Kaleb, eight great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was born in Douglas County and raised in the Seymour area, where she graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1963. She was a hard worker all her life, starting as a waitress, working the line at Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory, H.D. Lee Factory, Fasco Industries, Emerson, caring for clients at Oaklawn Children Care Center, and Oxford Healthcare. After retiring, she worked at McDonald’s, as a nanny for the Vance Family, and then at Seymour Schools working with special needs children. This she said was the most rewarding job she ever had, retiring in 2007.

She was saved and baptized at a young age and attended several churches over the years.

Growing up, Betty enjoyed her moments jigging on the Ozarks Jubilee. She devoted her life to caring for others, especially her grandbabies. In her spare time, she loved going to garage sales and creating stories to share with others.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor, and friend.

We celebrate her life and have many wonderful memories of our times together.
