Betty Marie Woods was born on November 17, 1930, to Elmer and Alice (Tuttle) Jones in Birch Tree, Missouri. She departed this life on December 21, 2023, at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, Missouri.
On January 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Carl Woods. To this union, four children were born Harold David, Helen Diane, Carl Jr., and Alice Elizabeth.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; one daughter, Helen (Woods) Downen; her mother and father; two sisters, Mildred Hughes and Dorothy Allen; and an infant brother.
She is survived by one sister, Vivian Legerwood of Mountain View, MO; two sons, Harold and wife, Kay of West Plains, MO, and Carl Jr. of Birch Tree, MO; one daughter, Alice Ray and husband, Howard of Lufkin, TX; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
Betty was saved at a young age, and renewed her life to God in her 20s. She was a member of the Birch Tree Church of God of Prophecy since 1976. Betty loved her church and church family. She enjoyed going to church and attending gospel singings. Betty prayed every day and lived each day for her Lord.
Her immediate family was her pride and joy, and she loved each one. She loved to cook, care for her home and flowers, and have her family come home to visit. Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri, with Pastor Roger Smith officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree.
