Dorothy Mabel Pinkston of Houston Missouri, age 93, passed away peacefully at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston Missouri on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
She was born on August 14, 1930, in Upton Missouri to the late Oba Ray & Grace (Campbell) Ragain. On April 26, 1976 she married the love of her life Orrin (Dean) Pinkston. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2020 and were married for over 51 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Hamilton) Osborn of Houston Missouri; granddaughters Tabby (Wayne) Harper of Houston Missouri; Lori Haney of Honolulu Hawaii; numerous great grandchildren, great grandchildren; her sister Fern (Ragain) Parks of St Louis Missouri; and grandson-in-law Kevin (Penne) Kinserlow of Edgar Springs.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Bobbie Hamilton and Connie (Hamilton) Richardson; granddaughter Penne (Hamilton) Kinserlow; two brothers, Millard “Mib” and Clovis “Bud” Ragain; two sisters, Virginia Ragain and Rosemary (Ragain) Walls; stepson Eckle Lee Peabody; and former husband Robert Lee (Buck) Hamilton with whom she shared three daughters.
Dorothy was a lifetime resident of Texas County and owned multiple businesses during her life. She ran Dorothy’s Fashions on Grand Avenue in Houston for over 30 years with her daughter Connie working beside her.
Dorothy greatly enjoyed visiting antique shops, watching her favorite show The Price Is Right, gardening, taking care of her cats Oscar and Mabel and most of all spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by family and all who knew her.
The family will be hosting a celebration of Dorothy’s life at a future date yet to be determined.
