Billy Dean Rowe, 80 years, 1 month, 19 days old, passed away on January 22, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO with his family by his side.
Bill was born December 3, 1943, in Douglas County, MO to Leonard Jason and Freda “Granny” Mae (Hicks) Rowe.
Bill was raised in Douglas County and also Kansas City.
In 1965, Bill and Freida Mae Caudill were united in marriage in Ava and together were blessed with four children.
Bill was retired from working at the City of Ava for many years. Also in Ava, he worked for Zane Gray detailing cars. When in Kansas City, Bill worked for American Tree Service.
Bill attended the Walnut Grove Church with Freida years ago. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all, spending time with family was important, especially with his grandkids. Bill enjoyed people and loved to visit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sheila; his wife, Freida; siblings; Bobby and J.D. Rowe, Russ Evans, Helen Breeding, Donna Osborn and Florence Stutts.
Bill is survived by his three children; Rebecca Rowe, Billie Jo Rowe and Dena Rowe; four grandchildren, Chandler, Zack, Crystal and Kaylee; siblings; Sue Downs, Katy Downs, Becky Stutts, Ellen “Oopie” Austin, Jimmy Rowe and Leonard Rowe; numerous nieces; nephews; and many friends.
Funeral services for Bill will be Friday, January 26, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at 9:30 A.M.
Officiating will be Pastor Buddy Boyd. Family requests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
